The USDA’s Civil Rights Statement must be visible on all SNAP-Ed-funded materials including books, brochures, calendars, posters, training agendas, fact sheets, flyers, and more. Failing to use the Civil Rights Statement could result in items not being eligible for reimbursement. Please consult the documents below to ensure you are using the most up-to-date statements and are following the requirements.

Civil Rights Statement Requirements:

  • All SNAP-Ed materials must include the current Civil Rights Statement
  • The statement must be used in its entirety
  • The font size must be legible so that participants can read and benefit from the information provided
  • Space between paragraphs must be maintained
  • Materials containing the previous version of the Civil Rights and Nondiscrimination Statement must be updated as follows:
    • Websites must be updated by Dec. 31, 2016
    • All documents, pamphlets, brochures, etc. should be updated when supplies are exhausted or by Sept. 30, 2017
    • All new printing must use the current Civil Rights  Statement
