Population-Based Approaches

Through the Michigan Fitness Foundation’s (MFF) network of Partners and MFF-led statewide initiatives, multi-level and multi-component programming reaches SNAP-Ed eligible people through Michigan with a focus on underserved populations including: Native Americans, Arab Americans, Hispanics/Latinos, People with Disabilities, Veterans, Refugees, and Asian Americans.

MFF and its Partners recognize that to impact healthy eating patterns and obesity prevention for our target audiences, programming must include direct education, PSE, and social marketing interventions that are delivered primarily in the following settings: child care, schools, communities, worksites, retail and point of food access, health care, locations serving underserved populations, and communities in crisis.
